When Luly was graphic designer, she entered a fashion show that requested the contestants to design and construct a dress out of paper. The original Monarch Butterfly Dress was eventually recreated with textiles including silk taffeta, black ostrich feathers, and Swarovski crystals.
eyelash viper - Luly was inspired to design this gown by the yellow pythons that live in the amazon. After the pattern was transferred from paper to fabric, a team of seamstresses applied each sequin by hand. A master seamstress then used these panels to build this gorgeous dress & Luly worked with the Atelier to ensure that the fit was perfect. This is couture and represents 800 hours of work from start to finish. photo credit: team photogenic.
